Was just bored thinking of old games that I used to play when I was in 1st grade and punched in number munchers an it made my day. Thought Id be a master at this by now being a math major and all, but I was wrong haha great app guys!!!

Just like I remember from elementary school! I was sad when searching online for Number Munchers and not finding a version that would be compatible with a current Mac or PC, but then I stumbled across this app! Its perfect.

I forgot how much I hated math. Also: I found a comment a couple yrs. old that said they cant pause: there is a pause button at the top right; it looks like itty bitty green Twix bars.

I remember this game back in grade school. After nearly 30 years its great to see that theyre finally coming back with educational games, I was actually disappointed in the last few decades in the decreasingly challenging and educational type games. I have always thought that MECC created the best games for our youth. But even as an adult I still find this game challenging. As I do like the original environment from which it came, accepting it with slightly altered graphics is expected. I hope to see all the MECC games return just the same. I enjoy running the Apple ][e emulator on my MacBook Pro whenever I need to remember the classics, but this way my kids can enjoy the same things I did when I was younger…. and heaven forbid--- Learn a thing or two.

The muncher is back and hes better than ever. I remember playing this when I was about a teeny tiny kid in 2001. Munchers will knock your socks off when you want your kids to learn math. Now if only Word Muncher can get released along with Super Munchers...

The app is very buggy. Needs an update.

Brilliant port and re-work of the classic game many of us played on a variety of now ancient computers. Please note, the app was massively updated Dec. 9, 2011, do pay head to only reviews from that point forward.

Geeze… I remember playing this game many many years ago at school when I was in like 3rd grade. the computer lab had really old computers. This game was on one of those 5" floppy disks. Yes, that old. I loved this game (along with MathBlasters). So awesome to have this on my iPhone now as a bit of nostalgia, as well as a way to preserve it and share with the next generation.

I really like this game a lot. If its not too much trouble can you guys add addition and subtraction also with the next update with the same easy and extreme levels. It really brings out the old school Number Munchers. Thanks. :)

I used this game to learn multiplication tables when I was young. Now, as a professional math tutor, I was excited about the opportunity to use this with my students. What makes this game work is that you are learning while having fun-- the fun coming from the avoidance of troggles. But the only level for multiples for which troggles are in play is normal, which starts with multiples of 12. Since this is obviously inappropriate for a 2nd grader just learning the tables, this means all that is really available for this learner (on the easy level) is a game where you try to guess multiples -- no avoidance of enemies, no race against the clock, no fun. This is a huge problem. I would have many students purchase and use this game if this were fixed. (while this is a more minor point, I might also mention that students love the cartoons they get as rewards for completing a level, an that a variety of these would be an additional plus.)

I loved playing this when I was a kid, and Im so glad they kept the same cut scenes, that is awesome!!!

Im a middle school teacher, so this app is useless to me unless the single-digit multiples have monsters. With no monsters theres no game. Please fix this!

Its awesome to see this game here! While personally Ill be playing the tougher levels, I do agree with the teachers and say the more basic math needs to have troggles. A couple bugs Ive found: - touch response isnt always so great, and I find myself having to tap numbers more than I should at times - I believe I managed to skip a level somehow by tapping the screen in between levels - I attempted to pause the game right after completing a level. It continued onto the next level anyway, and the troggles started even though I could not move, and also had no pause button to press. Also would love to see super munchers soon :-)

I love this game from my childhood the only thing is theres no sound :(

I have been looking for word munchers for some time now so when I found this I was very excited! I think this is the first app I have purchased in the two years I have had my iPad, so thats saying something. My husband and and I have both played already and I just found it tonight. I know my kids are going to love it. Im really enjoying seeing and hearing these much loved characters and sounds. I cant wait to see word munchers appear too!!! Please let it be soon!
